FAQ
Frequently asked questions about GEO and Kraffic.ai
Short, direct answers. Where something is not confirmed or not published, the answer says so.
Kraffic.ai and GEO
What is Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)?
Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the work of making a brand easy for AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Claude to find, understand and name when someone asks them a question. Search engine optimization aims at a list of links. GEO aims at the answer itself.
What is Kraffic.ai?
Kraffic.ai is a Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) platform and service. The platform runs the prompts your buyers type on AI assistants, shows how often those assistants name your brand, and gives you recommendations and a 30-day plan. Its parent company is Prime Team Agency.
Which AI assistants does Kraffic.ai check?
Today the Kraffic platform runs prompts on Claude, ChatGPT and Google Gemini. Results are shown for each assistant separately.
How often does Kraffic.ai run the prompts?
Prompts are run at most once a day. Each run is a scan, and the platform shows which prompts you won or lost since the last scan.
What is the Visibility Score?
The Visibility Score is the share of AI answers that name your brand, out of the answers collected in a scan. It is shown overall and for each AI assistant.
Can Kraffic.ai guarantee that an AI assistant will name my brand?
No. No one can guarantee what an AI assistant will answer, and anyone who promises that should be treated with caution. Kraffic.ai measures what the assistants actually say, scan by scan, and shows you what to work on.
How do I know the numbers are correct?
Every number in the Kraffic platform can be checked against the saved AI answer it came from. Sentiment themes are shown with the exact quote, and data can be exported as CSV.
Is Kraffic.ai the best GEO agency in the USA?
We do not claim a ranking, and no independent ranking is cited on this site. The fair way to decide is to compare agencies on the same criteria: which AI assistants they measure, whether every number can be checked against a saved answer, whether you approve the competitor list, and whether they are honest that results cannot be guaranteed. Our GEO Agency USA page lists these criteria and how Kraffic.ai handles each one.
How is GEO different from SEO?
SEO works on where your pages appear in a list of search results. GEO works on whether an AI assistant names and describes your brand correctly inside its answer. The two overlap: clear pages, structured data and trusted sources help both.
Who is the parent company of Kraffic.ai?
The parent company of Kraffic.ai is Prime Team Agency (primeteam.agency). Prime Team Agency describes itself as an Amazon and TikTok Shop agency that also offers GEO.
How much does Kraffic.ai cost?
Pricing is not published on this website. Please ask us for current pricing before you start.
How do I start with Kraffic.ai?
Customers sign in to the client workspace and agencies sign in to the agency workspace. Once you are in, you enter your website address and the platform takes it from there. The Contact page has both sign-in links.
Generative Engine Optimization
What does GEO stand for?
GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization. It is the practice of making a brand easier for AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Claude to understand and mention when people ask them questions. It sits alongside SEO, which focuses on ranking pages in traditional search results.
Can a GEO agency guarantee that ChatGPT will recommend my brand?
No. Nobody outside the companies that build these assistants controls what they write, and the same prompt can produce different answers on different runs. A GEO agency can improve the information the assistants have to work with and measure the outcome. Kraffic.ai reports results scan by scan and does not promise mentions or rankings.
Which AI assistants does Kraffic.ai track?
Kraffic.ai runs your tracked prompts on Claude, ChatGPT and Google Gemini and reports results for each assistant separately as well as together. Prompts are run at most once a day. Each answer is saved, so every number in a report can be traced back to the answer it came from.
How long does GEO take to show results?
It depends on the assistant, your market and what needs to change. Assistants that use live web search can reflect new content sooner than answers that come from training data, which is refreshed on a schedule the model makers decide. Kraffic.ai does not promise a timeline; progress is read from the change between scans.
How much do GEO services cost?
The cost depends on the number of prompts tracked, the competitors included and how much content and technical work is needed. Kraffic.ai provides pricing on request after understanding your site and goals. Ask any provider you compare what is measured, how often, and what work is included in the price.
Who is behind Kraffic.ai?
Kraffic.ai is a Generative Engine Optimization platform and service whose parent company is Prime Team Agency. Prime Team Agency is an Amazon and TikTok Shop agency that also offers GEO. Kraffic.ai focuses on measuring and improving how AI assistants answer buyer prompts about your brand.
AI Visibility Audit
What is a Visibility Score?
A Visibility Score is the share of tracked AI answers that name your brand. If your prompts are run on ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Claude, the score counts how many of the resulting answers mention you. Kraffic.ai shows the score overall and for each assistant, and every answer behind it can be opened and read.
How do I check if ChatGPT mentions my brand?
You can type buyer questions into ChatGPT yourself, but one manual check is a small sample because answers vary. An AI visibility audit runs a defined list of prompts on ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Claude, saves each answer and counts how often your brand and your approved competitors are named, so the result can be compared over time.
How many prompts are included in an audit?
It depends on your market and how many products or services you sell. Kraffic.ai discovers prompts from your website and category, and you can add your own or upload a list as a CSV. A useful set covers the different questions buyers ask, from broad category questions to direct comparisons.
How often should an AI visibility audit be repeated?
Repeat it whenever you want to see change, especially after publishing new content or correcting facts. Kraffic.ai runs tracked prompts at most once a day and reports which prompts were won or lost since the previous scan. Because single answers vary, a series of scans gives a more reliable picture than one.
Do I need technical access to my website for the audit?
No. The audit starts from your public website address. Kraffic.ai reads the public site, records business facts for you to confirm, and then measures the answers that AI assistants give. Access to your site is only relevant later, if you choose to act on recommendations such as content or structured data changes.
Prompt Research
What is a prompt in AI search?
A prompt is the question or request a person types into an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini or Claude. Unlike a search keyword, a prompt is often a full sentence that includes context, for example a budget, a location or a problem to solve. The assistant replies with a written answer rather than a list of links.
Can you see how many people use a specific prompt?
Not reliably. The companies behind ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Claude do not publish how often a given prompt is typed. Prompt research therefore focuses on relevance and coverage: prompts that match how your buyers ask, checked by running them and reading the answers. Kraffic.ai does not present invented prompt volumes.
Should tracked prompts include my brand name?
Most should not. Prompts without your brand name show whether assistants recommend you to someone who has not heard of you, which is the main goal of GEO. A smaller number of brand prompts is still useful, because they reveal how assistants describe you and whether the facts they state are correct.
Can I upload my own list of prompts?
Yes. In Kraffic.ai you can add prompts one at a time or upload a CSV file. Your prompts are tracked together with the ones the platform discovers and are run on Claude, ChatGPT and Google Gemini in the same way, so results are directly comparable across the whole list.
Does the wording of a prompt change the answer?
Yes. Small changes in wording, added context or a different location can lead an assistant to name different brands, and even the same prompt can produce different answers on separate runs. This is why it helps to track several phrasings of an important question and to judge results across scans instead of from one answer.
AI Visibility & Brand Authority
Why do AI assistants mention my competitors and not me?
Usually because the assistant has more, clearer or more consistent information about them. Competitors may be described on more independent websites, have pages that answer the question directly, or simply be better known in the data the model learned from. A scan shows which prompts this happens on and which sources are cited, which is the starting point for closing the gap.
Is AI search visibility the same as ranking on Google?
No. Ranking on Google means a page appears high in a list of results. AI search visibility means your brand is named inside an answer written by an assistant. The two are related, since assistants with live web search can read well-ranked pages, but a brand can rank well on Google and still be absent from AI answers.
Does being mentioned on other websites help with AI answers?
It can. Assistants learn from large amounts of web text and some retrieve live pages when answering. Independent sites that describe your brand accurately give them additional material. How much any single source matters is not published and varies by assistant, so Kraffic.ai shows which websites actually appear in the answers for your prompts.
Can a small business build AI brand authority?
Yes, within a defined niche. Assistants answer specific prompts, and a small business that is described clearly and consistently for a particular product, audience or location can be named for those prompts. Results are not guaranteed and vary between runs, so the practical approach is to track a focused prompt list and watch the trend.
How is share of voice calculated?
Share of voice is how the brand mentions across your tracked AI answers are divided between your brand and the competitors you approved. If assistants name a competitor far more often than you across the same prompts, that competitor holds a larger share of voice. Kraffic.ai reports it from saved answers, so the count can be checked.
Answer Engine & LLM Optimization
What is the difference between AEO and GEO?
Answer engine optimization (AEO) focuses on being the source of a direct answer, a term that predates AI chat and was also used for featured snippets and voice search. Generative engine optimization (GEO) focuses on being named in answers written by AI assistants. Today the two overlap heavily, and most providers, including Kraffic.ai, treat them as one body of work.
What is LLM optimization?
LLM optimization is preparing content so that large language models can interpret it and use it accurately. A large language model is the AI system that generates text in assistants such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Claude. The work involves clear, self-contained passages, consistent facts and structure that machines can read.
Can I optimize my website for ChatGPT specifically?
You can make your site clear, crawlable and factual, which helps any assistant that reads it, but there is no setting that makes ChatGPT name a brand. ChatGPT answers from training data and, in some modes, from web search. The practical approach is to measure its answers to your prompts and improve the content relevant to those prompts.
How quickly do AI assistants pick up website changes?
It varies. When an assistant uses live web search, updated pages can be read once they are crawled and indexed. Answers that rely on training data change only when the model maker releases an updated model, on a schedule outside your control. Kraffic.ai does not promise a timeline and reports changes as they appear in scans.
Does blocking AI crawlers affect my visibility in AI answers?
It can. If your robots.txt file blocks the crawlers an AI company uses, that company may be unable to read your pages for search or training, depending on which crawler is blocked. Each AI company documents its own crawlers and what they are used for, so the effect differs by assistant. It is worth checking your settings deliberately.
Content Optimization for AI
What content do AI assistants prefer to cite?
There is no published list, and it varies by assistant. In general, content that answers a specific question directly, states verifiable facts and is clearly structured is easier for an assistant to use. Kraffic.ai shows which websites are actually named in the answers to your tracked prompts, which is better evidence than a general rule.
Do FAQ pages help with AI answers?
They can, because an FAQ pairs a real question with a short, self-contained answer, which matches how people prompt assistants. The questions need to be ones buyers actually ask, and the answers need to be specific. FAQ structured data can also describe the questions and answers to machines, though no assistant guarantees it will use them.
Is it acceptable to use AI to write content for AI search?
AI can help draft, but the content must be accurate and reviewed by someone who knows the business. Kraffic.ai writes content drafts only from business facts you have confirmed, and you review them before publishing. Publishing unreviewed text with invented details risks spreading errors that assistants may later repeat about you.
Should I write comparison pages that include competitors?
Comparison pages are useful because buyers often ask assistants to compare options. They should be fair, specific and factual, with clear criteria. A one-sided page that disparages others is less credible to readers. Describe where your offer fits best and where another type of solution may suit a buyer better.
How long should a page be for AI engines?
There is no ideal length. What matters is that the page answers the questions a buyer has and that each section can be understood on its own. A short page with a clear definition, specifics and a few real FAQs is more useful than a long page that repeats itself.
LLM-Structured Content & Schema
Does schema markup make ChatGPT mention my brand?
Not by itself. Schema markup helps machines interpret what a page says, and search engines document their use of it. AI companies do not publish how much their assistants rely on structured data when writing answers. It is worth adding because it removes ambiguity about your facts, but no markup guarantees a mention in ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude.
Is llms.txt an official standard?
No. llms.txt is a proposed convention for giving language models a short guide to a website. It has not been adopted as a formal standard, and AI assistants are not known to obey it. You can publish one as a summary of your key pages, but you should not rely on it to change how assistants answer.
What is JSON-LD?
JSON-LD is a format for writing structured data inside a web page. It is a block of code, invisible to visitors, that lists facts such as the organization name, the services offered or the questions in an FAQ, using the shared schema.org vocabulary. It is the format search engines commonly recommend for structured data.
Can wrong structured data cause problems?
Yes. Markup that states facts different from the visible page, or that marks up content which is not on the page, can be ignored by search engines and may confuse any system reading it. Structured data should repeat what the page says. Kraffic.ai bases recommendations on facts you confirmed, to keep the two consistent.
Do I need a developer to add structured data?
It depends on your website platform. Many content management systems and ecommerce platforms add basic structured data automatically or through plugins, while custom sites usually need a developer. Either way, someone should check that the markup matches the visible content and validates without errors.
Reputation & Sentiment Monitoring
How do I find out what ChatGPT says about my company?
You can ask it directly, but a single answer is only one sample and may differ next time. Monitoring runs a fixed set of prompts on ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Claude, saves the answers and summarizes what was said. Kraffic.ai shows each claim with the exact quote, so you see the wording the assistant used.
Why would an AI assistant say something false about my business?
Language models generate likely-sounding text and can state things that are outdated, confused with another company or simply invented. Outdated or inconsistent information online makes this more likely. Kraffic.ai compares AI statements with the facts you confirmed and flags contradictions, so you know which statements to address.
Can I get a negative AI answer removed?
Not directly. Assistants generate answers each time and there is no listing to take down. If the negative statement is false, correct the facts at their source and use any feedback option the assistant offers. If it reflects real customer feedback, the lasting fix is to address the issue itself. No outcome can be guaranteed.
How is sentiment determined?
In Kraffic.ai, statements about your brand in the saved AI answers are grouped into themes and labeled positive, neutral or negative. Each claim is shown with the exact quote from the answer, so the label is never the only evidence. You can read the original wording and decide whether you agree with the reading.
Is this the same as social media monitoring?
No. Social media monitoring tracks what people post about you. AI reputation monitoring tracks what AI assistants write about you when buyers ask. The two are connected, because user-generated content, social posts and press can inform what assistants say, but the thing being measured is the AI answer itself.
Citation & Source Analysis
Do all AI assistants show their sources?
No. Whether sources are shown depends on the assistant and the mode. Answers that use live web search usually include the pages consulted, while answers generated from training data alone often include none. Citation analysis therefore reflects the answers that did name websites, and it should be read together with visibility results.
What is the difference between a mention and a citation?
A mention is when the assistant names your brand in the text of its answer. A citation is when it names or links a website as a source. You can be mentioned without your site being cited, for example when a review site is the source, and your site can be cited in an answer that recommends someone else.
Why does an AI assistant cite other sites and not mine?
Often because another page answers the question more directly, is easier to read, or is a type of source the assistant tends to use for that question, such as a comparison or review site. It can also mean your page could not be crawled. A citations report shows which sites are being used so you can compare them with your own.
Should I try to get listed on every site that AI cites?
No. Focus on sources that are relevant, credible and appear repeatedly for your prompts. Being described accurately on a few sources that assistants actually use for your category is more useful than a large number of low-quality listings. Any mention should be earned legitimately and reflect true facts about your business.
Can I export the citation data?
Yes. Kraffic.ai provides a CSV export, so you can work with the data in a spreadsheet or share it with your team. Every figure in the platform can also be traced to the saved AI answer it came from, which lets you check the context in which a website was named.
Competitor AI Benchmarking
What is share of voice in AI search?
Share of voice in AI search is the proportion of brand mentions in AI answers that belong to your brand, compared with your competitors. It is measured across a fixed set of prompts on assistants such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Claude. Kraffic.ai calculates it using only the competitors you approved.
How does Kraffic.ai decide who my competitors are?
Kraffic.ai reads your website, records what you offer and finds companies that appear to compete with you. It does not treat that list as final. You approve which competitors count, and only approved competitors are used for rank and share of voice. You stay in control of what the benchmark compares.
Can I see the exact answer where a competitor was named?
Yes. Every tracked answer is saved, and each number in the platform can be traced to the answer behind it. You can open the response from Claude, ChatGPT or Google Gemini for a given prompt and read how the assistant described each brand and which websites it named.
Why is my competitor named on one assistant but not another?
The assistants are built by different companies, trained on different data and retrieve web pages in different ways, so they often give different answers to the same prompt. This is why results are reported per assistant. A gap on one assistant only can point to a specific source or type of content.
Does benchmarking show why a competitor is ahead?
It shows evidence, not a certain cause. You can see the prompts a competitor wins, the wording of the answers and the websites cited. Those point to likely reasons, such as clearer content or stronger third-party coverage. Assistants do not disclose their reasoning, so conclusions should be tested by making changes and re-scanning.
GEO + SEO Hybrid Strategy
Is GEO replacing SEO?
No. GEO adds to SEO. Search engines remain a major way buyers find businesses, and AI assistants that search the web depend on pages being crawlable and well written, which is SEO work. GEO covers what SEO does not measure: whether and how AI assistants mention your brand in their answers.
Will optimizing for AI assistants hurt my Google rankings?
Sound GEO work should not. Clear answers, accurate facts, sensible headings and valid structured data are consistent with what search engines recommend. Problems arise only from poor practice, such as publishing large amounts of thin or inaccurate text. A hybrid plan checks each change against both goals before it is made.
Should I split my budget between SEO and GEO?
That depends on your market, your current search performance and how your buyers research. Kraffic.ai does not give financial advice or a fixed ratio. A practical starting point is to measure your AI visibility first, see how large the gap is against your approved competitors, and decide from evidence.
What is customer journey mapping?
Customer journey mapping is setting out the steps a buyer takes from recognizing a need to choosing a supplier, with the questions asked at each step. For AI search, it means grouping buyer prompts by stage, such as awareness, consideration, comparison and decision, and checking whether assistants name your brand at each one.
Can Kraffic.ai work alongside my existing SEO agency?
Yes. Kraffic.ai measures AI answers and produces recommendations, a 30-day plan and content drafts from your confirmed facts. That output can be shared with an in-house team or an existing SEO agency, and data can be exported as CSV. Prime Team Agency, the parent company, also offers GEO services.
Does Google use AI answers too?
Yes. Google shows AI-generated summaries in its search results for some queries, in addition to offering the Gemini assistant. This is one reason search and AI visibility are converging. Kraffic.ai tracks answers from Google Gemini, ChatGPT and Claude; it does not claim to measure every AI feature inside search results.
What is Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)?
Is GEO the same as AEO or LLM optimization?
The terms overlap heavily. AEO, answer engine optimization, and LLM optimization are other names people use for getting a brand into AI-generated answers. Different providers draw the lines differently, so ask what work is included rather than relying on the label. In practice all of them cover measurement of AI answers, content clarity, structured data and third-party sources.
Does GEO replace SEO?
No. GEO and SEO share a foundation: a crawlable website, clear content and a good reputation on other websites. Assistants that search the web often rely on pages that search engines can already find. Most businesses are better served by running the two together than by dropping one for the other.
Can a small business do GEO on its own?
Yes, the basics are within reach of a small team. Write down the questions your buyers ask, run them on ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, and note who gets named. Then make sure your website states your key facts plainly and answers those questions directly. A platform or agency helps mainly with scale, repeat measurement and analysis.
How do I know if AI assistants mention my brand today?
Ask them. Run the prompts your buyers would use on each assistant several times, because answers vary between runs, and record whether your brand appears. A tracking platform such as Kraffic.ai automates this by running your tracked prompts on Claude, ChatGPT and Google Gemini and saving every answer so the results can be checked.
GEO vs SEO: what is the difference, and do you need both?
Is GEO just SEO with a new name?
No, though they are related. Both rely on clear content, a crawlable site and a good reputation. GEO adds work that SEO does not include: researching conversational prompts, running them on AI assistants, recording which brands are named, checking the accuracy of what is said, and analyzing which websites the assistants draw on.
Will SEO still matter as more people use AI assistants?
Yes. Search engines remain a major way people find businesses, and AI assistants that search the web depend on pages that are already findable and well structured. A site with strong SEO foundations gives assistants better material to work with. The sensible move is to add GEO to SEO, not to swap one for the other.
Do GEO and SEO use the same keywords?
Partly. Short prompts can look like search keywords, but many prompts are full sentences that include the buyer's situation, budget and constraints. Semrush reported that ChatGPT prompts averaged about 23 words without search enabled. GEO research therefore tracks whole prompts and the topics behind them, not just short phrases.
Can I track GEO results in Google Search Console?
No. Search Console reports on Google Search performance. It does not show what ChatGPT, Claude or the Gemini assistant say about your brand. GEO tracking is done by running prompts on the assistants themselves and saving the answers, either by hand or with a platform built for that purpose.
Which should a new business start with, GEO or SEO?
Start with the foundation both share: a clear website that states what you sell, who it is for, where you operate and what it costs, in plain language. Then measure. Check your search visibility and run your main buyer prompts on the AI assistants. The gaps you find will tell you where to put effort first.
Does Kraffic.ai do SEO as well as GEO?
Kraffic.ai focuses on GEO: it tracks prompts on Claude, ChatGPT and Google Gemini and reports visibility, citations, sentiment and factual accuracy. It also offers a combined GEO and SEO strategy service, because the technical and content foundations overlap. It is a product of Prime Team Agency, an Amazon and TikTok Shop agency.
How do you choose a GEO agency in the USA?
What is the best GEO agency in the USA?
There is no independent, agreed ranking of GEO agencies, so any list that names a single best one reflects the opinion or interest of whoever wrote it. The best agency for your business is the one that can show traceable measurement across the assistants your buyers use, an approved competitor and prompt list, and a specific plan of work.
How much does a GEO agency cost?
Pricing varies widely with scope: the number of prompts tracked, the assistants covered, how often scans run, and how much content and source work is included. Ask each agency for a written scope and compare like for like. Be cautious of prices quoted before anyone has looked at your website and category.
Can a GEO agency guarantee my brand appears in ChatGPT?
No. ChatGPT's answers are produced by a model and, in some modes, by live web results that no agency controls, and answers vary between runs. An agency can improve the content and sources that make a mention more likely and can measure the change. A guarantee of a mention or a position is a reason to walk away.
Should I hire a GEO agency or use a GEO platform?
It depends on who will do the work. A platform gives you measurement, analysis and recommendations; someone still has to write content, fix the site and work on third-party sources. If you have a marketing team, a platform may be enough. If not, an agency or a platform with a service attached covers the execution.
How long should a GEO contract be?
Long enough to measure change, short enough to leave if the work is poor. Because answers vary and models update, a single scan proves little; you need repeated scans over time to see a trend. Many buyers start with an audit or a short initial term and extend once the reporting has proved reliable.
What proof should a GEO agency provide in its reports?
Each report should show the prompts run, the assistant and date for each run, the full saved answer, whether your brand and each approved competitor were named, and the websites cited. With that, you can verify any score yourself. Reports that give only summary percentages leave you unable to check the work.
What should you look for in the best GEO company in the USA?
Who is the best GEO company in the USA?
No independent body ranks GEO companies, so there is no single verifiable answer. Lists of top agencies are written by publishers or by the agencies themselves. A more reliable approach is to shortlist a few providers, apply the same checklist to each, ask for a sample scan on your own brand, and pick the one whose evidence holds up.
How do I check whether a GEO provider's results are real?
Ask for the prompts, dates, assistants and full saved answers behind the reported numbers, then run a sample of those prompts yourself. Results will differ a little because AI answers vary between runs, but the overall picture should match. A provider that cannot show the underlying answers is asking you to take its numbers on trust.
Are "top GEO agencies" lists trustworthy?
Treat them as starting points for a shortlist, not as evidence. Check who published the list, whether placement was paid, and what method was used. Many such lists have no stated method. The qualities that matter, such as traceable measurement and honest reporting, can only be judged by looking at a provider's actual work.
What is the difference between a GEO company and a GEO platform?
A GEO platform is software that tracks prompts across AI assistants and reports the results. A GEO company or agency provides people who interpret the data and carry out the work. Some providers offer both. Kraffic.ai is a GEO platform and service: the platform measures, recommends and produces a 30-day plan.
Does Kraffic.ai guarantee results?
No. Kraffic.ai does not guarantee that Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or any other assistant will name your brand, because no one outside those companies controls the answers. What it provides is measurement you can trace to the saved AI answer, analysis of citations, sentiment and factual accuracy, and a 30-day plan based on the findings.
Which AI assistants should a GEO company track for a US business?
Track the assistants your buyers use. ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Claude are widely used in the US, and Kraffic.ai tracks those three. If your buyers rely on another assistant or an AI feature inside a search engine, ask each provider whether it covers that product and how, since coverage differs between providers.
How do you get your brand named in ChatGPT answers?
Can you pay to rank in ChatGPT answers?
No agency can buy you a place in ChatGPT's organic answers. Any advertising or shopping features offered are decided and labeled by OpenAI and are separate from the generated answer. If a provider says it can pay for or guarantee an organic mention, ask how, and be skeptical of the reply.
How long does it take to show up in ChatGPT?
It varies and cannot be promised. Answers that use web search can reflect new or updated pages once they are found and retrieved. Answers from the model alone change only when a newer model has been trained on more recent data. Track the same prompts over time to see the trend for your own brand.
Why does ChatGPT recommend my competitors and not me?
Common reasons are that competitors are described more often and more consistently on websites the model draws on, that their own pages answer the question more directly, or that your site is hard to crawl. Looking at which websites ChatGPT cites for those prompts usually shows where competitors are present and you are absent.
Does ChatGPT use Google rankings?
ChatGPT is not a view of Google's results. When it searches, it relies on the search system OpenAI operates and the search providers OpenAI works with, and OpenAI has not published full details of how pages are selected. Pages that are well structured and findable tend to do well across search systems, so solid SEO foundations help, but a high Google ranking does not guarantee a ChatGPT mention.
What kind of content does ChatGPT quote?
Content that is easy to lift into an answer: a direct definition, a clear comparison, a specific fact with context, a step-by-step list. Passages that make sense on their own, without the rest of the page, are easier for any assistant to use. Vague marketing copy with no concrete facts gives the model little to work with.
What if ChatGPT says something wrong about my business?
First record the exact statement and the prompt that produced it. Then check whether your own site and major third-party profiles state the correct fact clearly; outdated pages are a frequent cause. Correct the sources you control and ask others to update theirs. Kraffic.ai's FactCheck flags AI statements that contradict facts you have confirmed.
How do you get your brand recommended by Google Gemini?
If I rank number one on Google, will Gemini recommend me?
Not necessarily. A strong Google ranking means Google can find and values your page, which helps when Gemini grounds an answer in search results. But Gemini writes its own answer and may name brands based on several sources, or answer from the model without searching. Rankings and Gemini mentions should be tracked as separate measures.
Is Gemini the same as Google AI Overviews?
No. Gemini is Google's AI assistant, used in its own app and website. AI Overviews are AI-generated summaries that can appear at the top of Google Search results. They use related Google models, but they are separate products with different behavior. A brand can appear in one and not the other.
Does schema markup help with Gemini?
Structured data helps machines interpret a page: what the organization is, what a product costs, what a question and its answer are. Google has long used it to understand pages. It is not a guarantee of a Gemini mention, and Google has not said that any schema type is a Gemini ranking factor, but it removes ambiguity about your facts.
Can I advertise to appear in Gemini answers?
Advertising in Google's products is managed by Google and is separate from the organic content of a Gemini answer. An agency cannot purchase an organic recommendation for you. If ads are shown in or near AI features, they are placed and labeled by Google under its own advertising policies.
Why does Gemini give different answers to the same question?
AI assistants generate text with some randomness, so the same prompt can produce different wording and a different set of brands on each run. Search results used for grounding also change. This is why Gemini visibility is best reported as the share of answers that name your brand across repeated runs, not a single result.
Does a Google Business Profile matter for Gemini?
For businesses that serve customers in specific places, an accurate Google Business Profile is worth maintaining, because it is a source of local business facts that Google controls. Google does not document exactly when Gemini uses it. Keeping hours, address, category and services correct reduces the chance of wrong details in any Google product.
How do you get your brand to show up in Claude answers?
Does Claude recommend specific companies?
Yes, when asked. If someone asks Claude for tools, products or providers in a category, it will usually name several and explain the trade-offs, often with caveats about checking current details. Which companies it names depends on its training data and on any web results it retrieves, and it can differ from one run to the next.
Is optimizing for Claude different from optimizing for ChatGPT?
The fundamentals are the same: clear facts on your own site, consistent third-party coverage, and crawlable pages. The differences are in the details. Each assistant has its own model, training data, search system and crawlers, so results differ. The practical step is to measure each assistant separately and address the gaps you find.
How do I know if Claude can read my website?
Check your robots.txt for rules that block Anthropic's documented user agents, and check whether a firewall or bot-protection service blocks them. Also confirm that your main content appears in the page's HTML and does not depend entirely on scripts. Server logs will show whether those crawlers have requested your pages.
Can I submit my website to Claude?
There is no public submission form that adds a business to Claude's answers. Claude learns about brands from its training data and from pages it retrieves through web search. The way to influence that is to publish clear, accurate information and to be covered on reliable third-party websites.
What should I do if Claude describes my product incorrectly?
Save the prompt and the answer, then look for the source of the error. Check your own site for outdated pages, and check major third-party profiles and reviews. Publish the correct fact clearly and update what you control. Model-only answers will not change until a newer model is trained, so keep tracking.
Does Kraffic.ai track Claude?
Yes. Kraffic.ai runs your tracked prompts on Claude, ChatGPT and Google Gemini at most once a day and reports results for each assistant separately. You can see which prompts name your brand on Claude, how you rank against competitors you approved, which websites are cited, and the saved answer behind every number.
How do you measure your brand's visibility in AI answers?
What is a good AI visibility score?
There is no universal benchmark, because the score depends on which prompts are tracked and how competitive the category is. A score is most useful compared with your own previous scans and with the competitors you approved. Be wary of anyone quoting an industry average without showing the prompts and method behind it.
Can I measure AI visibility manually?
Yes, at small scale. Run a list of prompts on each assistant, paste the answers into a spreadsheet, and mark which brands are named. It becomes time-consuming quickly, since you need several assistants, many prompts and repeated runs. Tracking platforms automate the collection and keep the saved answers for comparison.
Do AI companies provide data on how often my brand is mentioned?
No. No AI company publishes its users' prompts or a report of which brands its assistant mentions. Any figure for prompt volume or brand mentions comes from outside measurement or estimation. That is why the method matters: ask what prompts were run, on which assistants, when, and whether the answers were saved.
Why is my brand visible on one assistant and not another?
Each assistant has its own model, training data, search system and crawlers, so each sees a different picture of the web. A brand can be well covered in the sources one assistant relies on and thin in another's. Per-assistant results, together with the websites each one cites, show where the gap is.
How do I report AI visibility to leadership?
Keep it to a few measures and their trend: visibility score, share of voice against named competitors, results per assistant, and prompts won or lost since the last report. Add any factual errors found and what was done about them. Include two or three real AI answers as examples so the numbers are concrete.
How do you run a GEO audit? A step-by-step checklist
How long does a GEO audit take?
It depends on the size of the prompt set and how it is run. Done by hand, collecting and recording answers for dozens of prompts across three assistants takes many hours. A tracking platform collects the answers automatically, leaving your time for confirming facts, approving competitors, reading the findings and deciding what to do.
How many prompts should a GEO audit include?
Enough to cover the main ways buyers ask about your category: different products or services, different buyer situations, and both short and conversational phrasing. There is no fixed correct number. A smaller, well-chosen set you keep stable over time is more useful than a large set that changes with every scan.
Can I do a GEO audit myself?
Yes. The checklist above can be followed with nothing more than access to the assistants and a spreadsheet. The demanding parts are choosing prompts that reflect real buyers, repeating runs to allow for variation, and keeping records detailed enough to compare later. Many businesses do a first audit by hand and then automate.
How is a GEO audit different from an SEO audit?
An SEO audit reviews your site's technical health, content and search rankings. A GEO audit reviews what AI assistants actually say: whether they name you, how they describe you, which competitors and websites they cite, and whether the facts are right. The on-site checks overlap, but the central evidence in a GEO audit is the saved AI answers.
How often should a GEO audit be repeated?
Treat the first audit as a baseline and then keep measuring on a regular schedule, using the same prompts and competitors. Assistants change as models are updated and as web content changes, so a one-time audit goes out of date. Repeat a fuller review when you launch products, change positioning or see a sharp change in results.
What prompts do buyers ask AI assistants, and how do you find them?
How is prompt research different from keyword research?
Keyword research uses search engine data to find short phrases and their volumes. Prompt research has no equivalent data source, because AI companies do not publish prompts. It works from customer conversations, search data and category knowledge to build full questions, including long conversational ones, and then tests them on the assistants.
How long are typical AI prompts?
They vary widely. Semrush reported that in the second half of 2024, ChatGPT prompts averaged about 23 words when search was not used and about 4.2 words when ChatGPT Search was enabled. So a realistic prompt set contains both short, search-style phrases and longer questions that describe the buyer's situation.
Should I track prompts that include my brand name?
Yes, but keep them separate and few. Branded prompts tell you how assistants describe you and whether the facts are right. They do not tell you whether buyers discover you, since the name is already in the question. Mixing many branded prompts into your main set will make your visibility score look better than it is.
Is there a tool that shows real ChatGPT search volume?
No tool has access to OpenAI's actual prompt data, because OpenAI does not publish it. Tools that show prompt volumes are presenting estimates built from other data, such as panels or search demand. Treat such numbers as rough indications and ask the provider how they were produced.
Should prompts mention the USA or a specific state?
Include location where your buyers would. Someone looking for a local service or a US-only product often names the place, and assistants adjust their answers to it. For products sold nationally, include a mix: some prompts with a location or market and some without, so you can see whether it changes who is named.
How often should a prompt list be updated?
Review it periodically and when your business changes, such as a new product, a new market or a new competitor. Avoid constant changes, because a stable set is what makes scans comparable. When you do add or remove prompts, note the date so that later shifts in your score can be explained.
What are llms.txt and structured data, and do they help with AI answers?
Should I add llms.txt to my website?
It is optional. The file takes little effort to create and does no harm if it is accurate and kept current. Do it after the work that matters more: making sure crawlers are not blocked, that key pages state your facts plainly, and that structured data is valid. Do not expect it to change AI answers by itself.
Can llms.txt block AI from using my content?
No. llms.txt is meant to guide AI systems to content, not to restrict them. To allow or block crawlers, use robots.txt with the user agent names each AI company documents. Check each company's current documentation for what its crawlers do and which controls it honors.
Does FAQ schema get my answers quoted by AI?
FAQPage markup labels question-and-answer pairs that are visible on your page, which makes them easy for machines to identify. That does not guarantee an assistant will quote them. What helps most is the content itself: a clear question, and an answer that is complete and makes sense without the rest of the page.
Do AI crawlers run JavaScript?
It differs by crawler and is not always documented, so the safe assumption is that some do not. If your main content appears only after scripts run, a crawler that does not run scripts may see an almost empty page. Serving the main text in the initial HTML avoids the problem for every crawler.
What is the most important technical step for GEO?
Make sure your pages can be reached and read. Check that robots.txt and bot protection are not blocking search and AI crawlers you want, that the main text is in the HTML, and that each key page states your core facts plainly. Structured data comes next. Files such as llms.txt are optional extras.
What are AI citations, and which websites do AI assistants name?
How do I get my website cited by AI assistants?
There is no guaranteed method. What tends to help is publishing pages that answer specific questions directly, with facts stated plainly near the top, on a site that crawlers can reach and read. Pages that make sense as standalone passages are easier for an assistant to use. Then measure which pages are actually cited and improve from there.
Is being cited the same as being recommended?
No. A citation means the assistant used a page as a source. A recommendation means it named your brand as an option. Your article could be cited in an answer that recommends other companies, and your brand could be recommended on the strength of third-party pages without your own site being cited.
Why do AI answers sometimes have no sources?
When an assistant answers from its model without searching the web, the text is generated from what it learned in training and is not tied to specific pages, so there may be nothing to cite. Sources usually appear when web search or grounding is used. Whether search is used depends on the assistant, the settings and the question.
Do all AI assistants cite the same websites?
No. Each assistant has its own model and its own way of searching, so the same prompt can produce different sources on ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. There is often overlap among well-known websites in a category, but the differences are large enough that citation data should be collected and read separately for each assistant.
Should I pay to be listed on websites that AI assistants cite?
Judge each case on its merits. A legitimate directory listing or a sponsored placement that is clearly labeled is ordinary marketing. Paying for fake reviews or for content presented as independent when it is not is deceptive, can breach platform rules and consumer protection law, and puts your reputation at risk.
Can AI citations be wrong?
Yes. An assistant can link a source that does not fully support the statement next to it, or summarize a page inaccurately. That is why it helps to keep the full saved answer and check important claims against the cited page. Where an assistant misstates facts about your business, correct the sources you control.
How does GEO work for ecommerce and marketplace brands?
Can I get my Amazon products recommended by ChatGPT?
You cannot guarantee it, but you can improve the material available. Keep listings accurate and complete, make sure your own website describes the same products consistently, and earn genuine reviews and coverage. Whether ChatGPT reads a specific marketplace page depends on OpenAI's crawlers and the marketplace's rules, which can change.
Do AI assistants read customer reviews?
Assistants often summarize what customers say about a product, which indicates that review content reaches them through training data or retrieved pages. Which review sources a particular assistant uses is not fully documented. The practical point is that a pattern of real complaints or praise in public reviews is likely to show up in how assistants describe you.
Does Product schema help with AI shopping answers?
Product structured data states name, price, availability and ratings in a machine-readable form on your own store. Search engines use it widely, and it reduces the chance of those facts being misread. It is not a guarantee of an AI recommendation. Make sure the markup matches what is visible on the page and stays current.
Is GEO different for DTC brands and marketplace sellers?
The principles are the same, but the sources differ. A DTC brand controls its own store and should make it the clearest account of its products. A marketplace-first seller relies more on listings and reviews it only partly controls. Most brands sell through both and need the facts to agree across all of them.
Which prompts should an ecommerce brand track?
Track the questions shoppers ask before choosing: best product for a need, comparisons with competitors, prompts with a budget or constraint, and questions about your brand's reliability. Keep most of them non-branded. Include a smaller group of branded prompts to check that assistants state your product facts and policies correctly.
What if an AI assistant gives the wrong price or details for my product?
Record the prompt and the answer, then find where the wrong detail appears: an old product page, an outdated listing or a retailer page. Correct what you control and request updates elsewhere. Prices change often, so assistants answering from training data may be out of date. Clear, current, marked-up product pages reduce the problem.
How does GEO work for B2B and SaaS companies?
Do B2B buyers really use AI assistants to choose vendors?
Many do use them for research: to understand a category, draw up a shortlist and compare options before speaking to sales. How much depends on the industry and the buyer. A simple way to gauge it for your own business is to ask new leads how they researched vendors and to add AI assistants as an option on your lead source question.
Should a SaaS company publish its pricing for GEO?
That is a business decision. From a GEO point of view, published pricing gives assistants a correct figure to state; without it they may say pricing is not public, or repeat an old or third-party number. If you cannot publish prices, explaining how pricing is structured still gives assistants something accurate to say.
Do comparison pages help with AI visibility?
They can, if they are fair and specific. Buyers frequently ask assistants to compare vendors, and a page that clearly explains the differences and who each product suits gives the assistant usable material. Pages that simply attack competitors are less useful and can damage trust. State facts you can support.
How do software review sites affect AI answers?
Review sites are among the third-party sources that describe software products in detail, and assistants can draw on them through training data or web search. Which sites a given assistant cites varies by prompt. Keeping your profiles complete and current, and encouraging genuine customer reviews, improves the information available about you.
Is gated content bad for GEO?
Content behind a form or login generally cannot be read by crawlers, so assistants cannot use it. That does not mean you must ungate everything. Keep the facts buyers and assistants need, such as what the product does, who it fits and how it integrates, on public pages, and reserve gating for deeper material.
How does GEO fit with a long B2B sales cycle?
GEO affects the early, unseen part of the cycle, when buyers form a shortlist. Its results show first as changes in AI answers, which you can measure directly, and only later in pipeline. Avoid attributing revenue to GEO without evidence; track visibility as a leading indicator alongside lead-source feedback.
